[Evento] CFP SugarLoafPLoP 2010 - Salvador - Bahia

Mais um evento internacional na área de computação em Salvador.

Um fato que deve ser reconhecido por todos, e que passa despercebido às vezes, é que a Bahia estava começando a ter um fluxo bastante interessante de eventos na área de computação. Neste ano, por exemplo, teremos alguns bastante importantes, como o I Congresso Brasileiro de Software: Teoria e Prática (CBSoft) e XXIV Simpósio Brasileiro de Engenharia de Software (SBES).

Dentre outros motivadores para estes eventos, não podemos negar o esforço e o trabalho que vem sendo promovido pelas instituições de ensino superior em nosso estado, além dos frutos que estão sendo obtidos com o programa de Doutorado da UFBA/UEFS/UNIFACS. Aliás, o doutorado cresce a cada dia e novos reforços estão sendo planejados para os próximos meses e anos. Neste caso, em breve, excelentes notícias estarão por vir.

Creio que o que temos que melhorar é o incentivo de alunos para ingresso na área de computação. Pernambuco possui um bom programa de incentivo em escolas públicas, trabalho este que começou na Bahia e depois não se ouviu mais nada... uma pena. À época, eu era Diretor dos Cursos Tecnológicos na UNIJORGE e nos interessamos pelo programa, a qual vislumbramos a possibilidade de oferta de incentivos para os alunos que nele participassem, visto que seria um público bem direcionado para nossa formação na área de desenvolvimento de sistemas e redes.

É chegada a hora de nos politizarmos e tomarmos consciência que a inexistência de políticas públicas é fato nocivo ao desenvolvimento da área de computação em nosso estado. Vamos abrir os olhos, cobrar dos governantes e escolhê-los de acordo com seus planos de governo.

Analogamente, quem mora em prédio, assim como eu, sabe que se não participarmos das reuniões de condomínio, se faz o que quer... eu não participava, por conta de outras obrigações e agora sei o quão importante é....

THE CONFERENCE
==============

Software developers have long observed that certain patterns recur and endure
across different applications and systems. The growing interest in Design
Patterns, Architectural Patterns, Analysis Patterns, Pedagogical Patterns, and
so on, represents an effort to catalog and better communicate knowledge,
providing handbooks of proven solutions to common problems.

SugarLoafPLoP brings together researchers, educators, and practitioners whose
interests span a remarkably broad range of topics and who share an interest in
exploring the power of the pattern form. SugarLoafPLoP invites you to add your
expertise to the growing corpus of patterns. SugarLoafPLoP focuses on
improving the expression of patterns. You will have the opportunity to refine
and extend your patterns with the help from knowledgeable and sympathetic
fellow pattern enthusiasts. You will also be able to discuss applications of
patterns in industry and academia.

Highlights of the conference include tutorials, invited speakers, and
workshops, all held in a beach in Salvado/Brazil, an area of great natural and
cultural beauty.

The SugarLoafPLoP'2010 program will be divided in three different tracks:

* Writers' Workshop (WW) - papers that document patterns and pattern languages
will be workshoped in the traditional PLoP format.

* Pattern Applications (PA) - papers that explore the use and
application of patterns, such as using patterns in industry and academia,
tools for using patterns, evaluation of productivity when using patterns,
teaching and consulting with patterns, and so on. Both practitioners from
the software industry and academics are invited to submit to this track.

* Writing Patterns (WP) - papers of newcomers who want to learn how to better
elaborate an idea intended to evolve to a pattern or pattern language. This
is more like a hands-on tutorial on writing patterns.

PAPER SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
==============================

Paper submissions will be performed via the online JEMS system
(https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/)
starting on early April, 2010. Papers can be written in English
(preferred), Portuguese,
or Spanish and must conform to the SBC (Brazilian Computer Society) style, that
will be available in the conference web site. Submissions should be in
PDF format.

Papers published at writer's workshop track at this conference are
qualifyied for
submission to the new journal "Transactions on Pattern Languages of
Programming"
published by Springer.
